Lick Hill Manor, Worcestershire

The History:

It is believed to have been built somewhere between 1662 – 1717 during the period of ownership by Lord Thomas Foliot and his eldest son and heirs’ death. The manor has been a private home to many lords of the land, left to rot and most recently a nursing home.

During the 1930’s Lick Hill Manor was unoccupied and left to rot until WWII came around where it was requisitioned into a maternity unit until some time after the war.

In the late 40’s to early 50’s it was converted into a hotel up until 1956 when the then current owner, Mr Lloyd Jones returned the manor into a private abode for himself and his future family. Lick Hill Manor got a grade II listed status in 1950.

It is not know when Mr Jones sold the manor to Gentle Care Services but it ran as a nursing home for many years before closing it’s doors in 2015.

The manor has now been purchased by new owners but we’re unable to find out it’s future plans.
